Obiettivo
To study the integration of a lorry in an industrial and mining environment.
The project will involve:
evaluation of the options from the previous study;
feasibility testing and development of the obstacle detection system;
development of the lorry and fixed station linkup;
development of a control station for a fleet of driverless vehicles;
design and development of techniques for stabilizing vision sensors;
design of architecture of on board computer systems;
development of systems for monitoring internal units and transmitting anomaly messages to the control station;
improving the performance of the guidance system (speed);
and testing a driverless vehicle and the control station.
There will be 4 main stages. Firstly, fully automating an off the shelf vehicle involving:
development of the navigation system;
development of the vehicle control system;
development of the on board telecommunication system;
development of the safety system;
and development of the simulator.
The second stage is the control station. It will be a graphics workstation with a telecom facility for dialogue with the lorries. The software will have the following functions: route management; lorry monitoring; and remote loading of trajectories.
The third stage is the tests. These will be: laboratory tests; integration; pilot circuit tests; and in mine tests.
The fourth stage is the conclusion and final report.
