Obiettivo Objective of the proposed project is the installation, demonstration and monitoring of two small autonomous energy systems for agricultural (mainly irrigation) needs at the island of Lesvos/Greece. The demonstration of the systems should encourage the farmers to use more renewable energies for their needs and should prove that the use of renewables in the applications of the agricultural sector can make them environmentally friendlier, more reliable and cheaper. The efficiency and reability of two different system-design-strategies will be compared and evaluated. A "photovoltaic-diesel-battery" system and a photovoltaic-water storage battery system will be installed and compared.
