Obiettivo
The knowledge of the reservoir heterogeneities is one of the key factors :
- for the estimation of the recoverable reserves in a hydrocarbon field
- for the choice of the more efficient methods of exploitation of these reserves.
Thus the aim of the project is to simulate in 3D the reservoir heterogeneities at a metric scale vertically and hectometric laterally.
The feasibility of the method has been established in the project nr. TH./01070/86 with the realization of an experimental software.
The objective of this project is to prove the economical and technical viability of this new method of simulation.L%
The technical and economical viability of this new geostatistical simulation method, purpose of the present project, has been proven.
The new convivial interface has been achieved : Heresim 3D version 3.0
All the steps and tests have been achieved satisfactorily.
Within the scope of the project, Heresim and the methodology have met all the requirements of the 3D modelization while allowing a lateral characterization of the heterogeneities in conformity with the vertical details of the well data (results of the cluster analysis on logs).
Parallel to the project, AGIP has tested the software on other fields. These tests have proven the reliability and the applicability of the model within different geological environments. Furthermore, AGIP emphasizes the fact that HERESIM can also be used for more analyzing purposes.
The purpose of the project being to prove the economical and technical viability of this new method of simulation of reservoir heterogeneities, it includes;
- the adaptation of the experimental software for the required needs to test the method on a hydrocarbon site
- the demonstration of the technical and economical viability in a hydrocarbon environment quite common in oil industries
- the realization of simulations precise and adapted simulations to the encountered problems in modifying the input parameters of the software
The demonstation will be carried out on the El Borma oil field located in Tunisia where about one hundred wells are available on a 400 km2 surface, and where sharp facies variations both vertically and laterally are present. A very smooth tectonic setting and the nature of the heterogeneities make this field ideal to test this new method of probabilistic simulation of the reservoir heterogeneities.
The project includes 2 phases :
Phase 1 : Adaptation of software to demonstration requirements
Phase 2 : Demonstration.
