Objective
We intend to develop an intelligent process of fermentation control, using the measure of CO2 given off during the reaction. The project will mainly focus on:
- The design (or adaptation) of the scheme of fermentation control by measurement of CO2 with adapted sensors,
- The development of an "intelligent" industrial equipment and process of fermentation control,
- The validation and improvement of the method in a large range of industry. Profiles of various fermentation types will be identified, to optimise each kind of reaction using these references. The main innovations will be the use of CO2 measurement into an intelligent control process, and the range of applications: we intend to develop a process for both Food and Biotechnology industry. We can underline the effects on products quality, products taste, reducing of energy consumption, and real time process control, all these aspects having major effect on manufacturing efficiency.

Topic(s)
Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Funding Scheme
Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
