Development of new potatoe products with high nutritive- and nutritive physiological value from new cultivated potatoe species and by using exclusivly natural vegetable supplements.

Objective

The anticipated project contains the development of safe, healthy and varied potato products (dried and fresh products) to improve the health of European citizens including the selection and cultivation of new potato species with high contents of photochemical (trace elements, minerals, vitamins, corticoids),the substitution of synthetically supplements (emulsifiers, antioxidants, souring agents,...) by exclusively natural vegetable supplements, the development of safe and flexible manufacturing processes and technologies to gain potato products with high nutritive- and nutritive physiological value and investigations to gain amore profound understanding of the role of new potato products with a high content of photochemical in promoting and sustaining health. The co-operation between them Hagen (dried Potato products) and Basked SA (fresh products) together with other She's and FTE's will make sure the quick transfer from research into commercially successful products.
