We have developed a range of immortalized chondrocyte cell lines > next we will explore the use of immortalized chondrocyte cell lines for identification of useful inhibitors of cytokine and growth factor activation. Such chondrocyte lines are of value to the scientific community but also to biotech or pharmaceutical industry
We have obtained further insight in the usefulness of murine OA models, but there is a need to improve characterization of murine instability OA model, including efficacy of TGFb inhibitors in osteophyte formation and cartilage pathology, to be able to exploit it for drug screening. Need to reduce the variability of instability induced OA pathology
