Objectif
The objective of the project is to show the potential for reduction in casualties of vulnerable road users like pedestrians, cyclists, motorised two wheelers and young drivers, by technical non restrictive-measures.
These measures will be compared with other measures to enable policy makers to weigh measures against each other.
Cost effective analysis will be used to compare technical non-restrictive measures with other measures.
Restrictive refers to mobility and directness. So the aim is to promote mobility as well as safety. This is to realise a change in (local) policy where safety measures for pedestrians and two wheelers very often were taken at the expense of their mobility needs and efficiency. To judge the restrictiveness, criteria will be developed and the road user viewpoint will be taken on board.
The aim is to present measures in an implementation framework, in a way that (local) policy makers can take steps for a structural approach to come forward to the different needs of vulnerable road users.
