European high-speed rail network: Environmental impact study
The Commission invites requests to participate in a study (June-October 1991) examining the environmental impact of the construction of the European network of high-speed trains and considering: The amount of land occupied and artificial barriers set up, air and noise pollution, energy consumption, organization and siting of economic activities. The study should include a comparative analysis of different transport modes, different construction specifications (new or upgraded lines, line links and extensions plus type of terrain traversed).
