The European Commission, DG XII, has published a second call for expressions of interest in membership of the European Technology Assessment Network (ETAN) within the framework of its specific research programme in the area of targeted socio-economic research (TSER). ETAN is designed to bring together researchers and users of evaluations of science and technology policy options in Europe. Members of the network will contribute and receive information about activities in the field and have the opportunity to take part in and/or to organize seminars, conferences and other activities aimed at the exchange of information and experiences, dissemination of good practice and provision of information and advice. Expressions of interest are invited: - From research units benefiting from: . A track record of performing research in the fields of evaluation of science and technology options in Europe, science and technology management, innovation studies or closely related subjects; . A track record of having contributed to the elucidation of technology assessment or related issues in an applied context, through the organization and implementation of systematic approaches, or a clear commitment to the promotion and development of activities in these fields on a practical and intellectual basis, particularly in regions where such activities are less developed; - From political, economic or social organizations making use of evaluations of science and technology policy options and who are willing to use research results in the fields of science and technology policy, science and technology management, innovation or closely related subjects. Those who have been accepted as Members of ETAN following the previous call for expressions of interest for membership of the European Technology Assessment Network (ETAN) (OJ No C 64, 15. 3. 1995) do not have to reapply.
