BIOTECH research training grants awarded
As a result of the call for proposals for RTD actions launched on 15 December 1995 under the Community's Biotechnology programme, a total of 84 applications for training grants were received by the first deadline of 1 March 1996. Of these, a total of 42 applications were selected, representing 50% of the original applications. A further 85 were received by the second deadline of 1 July 1996 and are presently being evaluated by external referees. A success rate of approximately 50% is expected to be maintained. The next deadline for the receipt of applications for training grants is 1 November 1996.
