New JOULE/THERMIE Information Packages
The European Commission, DG XII, has published a second edition of the 1996 Information Package for the specific RTD programme in the field of non-nuclear energy (JOULE/THERMIE). The new Information Package is divided into two separate components addressing individually the JOULE section of the programme (RTD actions) and the THERMIE section (demonstration actions). JOULE/THERMIE merges within one programme both RTD and demonstration actions - previously carried out separately within the JOULE and THERMIE programmes. It also introduces a new activity in support of an overall energy RTD strategy in the interdisciplinary area of energy-environment-economy. The JOULE Information Package contains information on the JOULE component of the JOULE/THERMIE programme and should be used by parties applying for funding under the second call for proposals for research projects in the field of non-nuclear energy, launched on 17 September 1996 (OJ No S 180 of 17.9.1996 p. 37). The package contains details of the criteria for participation and advice on the submission of proposals, as well as information about the selection and evaluation process. Contact points in the Commission and in the Member States where applicants may obtain further assistance are also listed. The THERMIE Information Package updates information on the submission of proposals for demonstration actions in the field of non-nuclear energy.
