Support services for MEDA programme
The European Commission has published a series of invitations to tender, under the restricted procedure, for support services for the European Community's cooperation programme with Mediterranean partner countries (MEDA). The invitations to tender include a series relating to technical assistance in the Commission's Delegations in the following Mediterranean partner states: Syria, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, the Palestinian Territories, Algeria, Egypt and Tunisia. The responsibility for each of these tenders lies with the Commission's Delegation in the country concerned. Tenderers for these contracts may be European Union nationals or nationals of the partner country concerned. Parties awarded these contracts will be excluded from participating in other MEDA tenders, including for the provision of technical assistance to the Commission's Delegations in other Mediterranean partner countries. The other two tenders concern the provision of central support services and technical assistance under the supervision of the Commission in Brussels. Parties awarded these contracts will be excluded from participating in the invitations to tender for services in the individual countries, and from other contracts relating to actions under the MEDA programme. For each tender, the Commission will invite around ten applicants to submit a full tender for the provision of services. Fuller details of each tender may be obtained in the Official Journal of the European Communities (OJ No S 1 of 2.1.1997 pp. 37-47). Information in relation to the tenders for services in the partner countries may be obtained from the Commission's Delegations in those countries. Information relating to the tenders for central support services and technical assistance may be obtained from: European Commission DG IB - External relations: Southern Mediterranean, middle and Near East, Latin America, South and South-east Asia and North-South Cooperation Mr. F.
