Demonstration of the CORDIS databases will feature at Euro Info Centre conferences in Berlin (22 October 1992) and Liege (22-24 October 1992).

Euro Info Centres provide local or regional access to European Community information. They form part of the Commission's business information and cooperation networks comprising Euro Info Centres themselves plus the Business Cooperation Network (BC-NET) and the Business Cooperation Centre (BRE, Bureau de Rapprochement des Enterprises). A range of services is available at each Centre.

Companies, research and educational institutes, and other interested parties have access to CORDIS via the Centres, and to documentation concerning the database. This provides many users with a cost-effective source of information on Community research and technological development programmes. Equally, it offers first-time users the opportunity to assess the usefulness of the database with relation to their specific needs.

To date, CORDIS is accessed by 588 "focal point" organizations who specialize in further dissemination of information. These include consultancy agencies, information offices, the press, chambers of commerce and industrial associations, as well as the SPRINT network, BC-Net and the Euro Info Centres.

To take advantage of the services offered by local Euro Info Centres, a free pocket guide lists the identity, addresses and contact persons for over 210 Centres throughout the Member States, plus Correspondence Centres now in operation in EFTA countries and in Eastern and Central Europe.

Further on-line demonstrations by CORDIS staff are to be arranged at EICs later in the year.
