European Telework awards

The short-listed candidates for the 1999 European Telework awards have been announced on the European Telework Week website. Each winner will be presented with their award, an original sculpture by Liliane Caumont, at a ceremony on 5 November in Brussels.
The awards are made to individuals and organisations who the organisers feel have contributed the most to European telework, and are likely to be the highlight of European Telework Week, taking place from 1 to 8 November 1999.
This year the awards will be based on the following six areas: best example in a large organisation; best example in an SME; best supporting public initiative; best contribution to public awareness; best initiative supporting disadvantages; and best supporting technology or service.
The three highest contenders in each category have been short-listed and selected to attend the awards ceremony where they will be asked to prepare a five-minute presentation on their project. The audience will be asked to rate each presentation, and the scores will be combined with the expert evaluation to give the final winner in each category.
