ALTENER Workshop - Biomass and waste to energy

A workshop entitled "Biomass and waste to energy" will be held in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, on 6 November 1996. The workshop, which is sponsored by the Community's ALTENER programme for the promotion of renewable energy sources, will focus on financial incentives for the conversion of waste or biomass into energy.
The workshop will include presentations of existing national financial schemes supporting the development, implementation and exploitation of technologies to convert renewables, and more specifically, waste or biomass, into energy. The aim of the workshop is to explore the industrial potential offered by these schemes and to highlight potential for further improvement or harmonization.
An ALTENER "Status report on financial instruments", which will be offered to both national and EU authorities, will be produced based on the findings of the workshop.
