EVA'97 Florence - Electronic imaging and the visual arts
The main aim of this conference is to provide a cross-sectoral forum for the user, supplier and scientific communities to meet and exchange experience, ideas and plans. Participants will receive up-to-date information on both European and international initiatives in the visual arts, computing and telecommunications sectors.
The conference programme will include plenary sessions on:
- From theory to practice in access and conservation;
- Security and access in multimedia services;
- EC Day: New technology development and initial experimental applications;
- Museums and education.
A wide range of EC-funded projects will be presented during the conference. These will include projects funded under the ESPRIT, Telematics Applications and ACTS programmes and initiatives relating to the G7 pilot projects.
In addition to the main conference programme, a number of pre-conference tutorials and cluster workshops are also being organized. These will address, inter alia, issues relating to: quality in multimedia systems; visitor information systems, hypertext/hypermedia; user studies and markets; content-based image recognition; multimedia successes and failures.
