Project description
Better synergies and more coordination for raw materials
The circular economy is a key pathway for sustainable development. As such, the sustainable supply of raw materials (RM) is crucial for the growth of the economy. The previous ERA-MIN and ERA-MIN 2 projects brought together key stakeholders to develop the non-energy mineral RM research area in Europe. However, environmental, social, health and safety issues brought about the fragmentation of RM funding in Europe and globally. To combat this issue, the EU-funded ERA-MIN3 project will further improve synergies, coordination and coherence between regional, national and EU funding in the RM sector through transnational and European calls for R&I proposals, including on primary and secondary resources across the entire value chain. Moreover, it will investigate environmental and societal impacts and explore new business models. The project's activities will contribute to the circular economy and promote sustainable development.
