Project handbook, quality plan & risk management: It includes a list of rules for everyday activities of the project, communication and file tools, email lists, formal file naming and project quality plan.
Data management plan (preliminary version): This document describes the adopted plan and measures for managing data within the project.
- 5G-EPICENTRE represents an attempt to federate 5G testbed infrastructures across the EU with the
specific purpose to address the needs and demands of the public safety and emergency and disaster managementmarket needs.
- According a recent survey on the Phase 2 and Phase 3 5G-PPP projects, Cloud-native transformation still faces barriers, as well as a reluctance for adoption, with only a handful of projects utilizing K8s for CNF/VNF orchestration. 5G-EPICENTRE aims to accelerate such processes by utilizing K8s as both a VIM and VNF Manager, so as to optimally schedule core CNF/VNFs to run on the optimal available infrastructure; scale in and out on demand; and utilize container-level isolation and health monitoring, so as to rapidly restart instances in case of failure.
- In face of these facts, rather than opting for a centralized solution, 5G-EPICENTRE will rather consider
migrating mission-critical services and applications from the remote cloud to the network edge, thus bringing them closer to the end-users, so as to reduce communication delay and alleviate network bandwidth.
- 5G-EPICENTRE will explore various algorithms pertaining to optimal edge VNF placement, utilizing
lightweight container-based NetApp elements to maximise the amount of resources that can safely and reliably be instantiated in close proximity to the first responders/end users, so as to accommodate mission-critical and delay-sensitive traffic characteristic in PPDR scenarios.
- There are many anomaly detection techniques, often developed by industries or research centres for
specific application domains but there are still many factors that make the problem very challenging, such as finding the exact gap between normal and abnormal behaviours in different contexts and dealing with different application domains with different variant on the data.
- 5G-EPICENTRE will explore opportunities for 5G experiment large scale analytics’ insights and KPI
exploration, visualization and interaction using a wide range of smart surfaces, ranging from desktop environments to coherent interfaces using multiple interactive surfaces.
- To ensure that security considerations of a design will be considered, as well as that analysis and verification tasks can be performed at the design level, security aspects need to be explicitly represented within the design of the software of the 5G-EPICENTRE platform.
