Gemeinsame Forschungsökosysteme stärken
Die Hochschulallianz CIVICA (European University of Social Sciences) bringt acht führende europäische Hochschulen aus den Bereichen Sozialwissenschaften, Geisteswissenschaften, Unternehmensführung und öffentliche Ordnung zusammen, um Lehre, Forschung und Innovation stärker miteinander zu verzahnen. Ziel ist, Wissen als öffentliches Gut zugänglich zu machen und staatsbürgerliche Verantwortung zu fördern. In diesem Kontext wird das EU-finanzierte Projekt CIVICA RESEARCH der Allianz CIVICA Instrumente für eine ehrgeizige und innovative Forschungsstrategie zur Verfügung stellen. Veranstaltungen, Infrastruktur und Methoden sollen es jeder Forscherin und jedem Forscher bei CIVICA ermöglichen, einen Beitrag zu den gemeinsamen und als Priorität festgelegten wissenschaftlichen Aktivitäten zu leisten. Das Projekt wird Methoden entwickeln, damit externe Akademikerinnen und Akademiker CIVICA genau kennenlernen können und die Vorteile der digitalen Tools in den vorhandenen Forschungsinfrastrukturen (wie das internetbasierte Experimentallabor) vollständig ausgenutzt werden.
Ziel
CIVICA RESEARCH aims at endowing CIVICA, the European University in Social Sciences, with the instruments of an ambitious and innovative research strategy. CIVICA RESEARCH will explore major institutional transformations to operate a paradigm shift in several key-sectors in a way to: design a strategic research agenda, reinforce human capital and facilitate brain circulation, implement an Open Science culture, create and remove obstacles to shared research ecosystems. CIVICA RESEARCH aims to achieve optimal transnational cooperation among its partners. The keystone of this strategy are the four central issues to be tackled by all our disciplines: Democracy in the XXIst Century; Societies in Transition and Crises of Earth; Europe Revisited; Data Driven Technologies for Social Sciences. The project will use a wide array of events, infrastructures, and tools to enable each researcher within CIVICA to contribute to our collective elicitation of the joint scientific activities developed around these four priorities. We will bring projects up from the grassroots following a multi-pronged approach. 1) Rapid setup of snowball seminars, pilot calls and hackathons will contribute to build-up a common work plan. 2) Innovative mechanisms that facilitate the circulation of scholars and ideas within the Alliance will spur the emergence of a CIVICA scientific community. The project also features tools to ensure that outside scholars become familiar with CIVICA identity. 3) We will develop research infrastructures (e.g online experimental lab), that fully exploit the potential of digital tools for research. 4) We aim at producing influential knowledge that percolates beyond academic circles, thus setting joint high standards in terms of Open Science practices. 5) We devote significant resources towards the dissemination and communication of our research to targeted audiences. A Rapid Policy Response Mechanism aims in particular to enhance our collective outreach to policymakers.
