Periodic Reporting for period 1 - GraCerLit (GraCerLit – Development of Functionally Graded Ceramics by Lithography-based Ceramic Manufacturing (LCM))
Berichtszeitraum: 2021-08-01 bis 2023-07-31
1) Adapting the LCM process and development of multi-material (MM) printing approaches that will allow grading in material and/or material properties.
2) Production and characterization of FGC samples including selection of optimal slurries, process parameters and thermal post-processing.
3) Generation of process-structure-property (PSP) relations by regression analysis with machine learning (ML) algorithms for the optimization of material and process parameters
The subject related patents, publications and reports were reviewed in WP2: State-of-art, Specifications and Needs Assessment. After the preparation of state-of-art and needs analysis, the review article was published.
In the WP3: Development of a Lithography-based Printing Setup, seven printing approaches were developed allowing the introduction of gradient regions, three printing approaches were selected and used in the project.
In WP4: Production and Characterization of Functionally Graded Ceramic (FGC) Samples, porosity, microstructural and compositional graded ceramic parts were printed and characterized. The main results of WP4 were published in the articles and presented in various conferences/exhibitions.
In WP5: Development of Process -Structure-Property (PSP) Relations with Machine Learning (ML), ML algorithms were used to forecast the shrinkage factor of porous alumina samples by changing five parameters. The preliminary results were presented in the XVIII. Conference of the European Ceramic Society conference in Lyon. The article that will represent the results is in preparation.
Dissemination, exploitation, and communication activities performed according to WP6: Dissemination, Exploitation and Communication (DEC) of Results are given in the following. Below the list of published articles and the presentations done by ER and the supervisor are provided.
