Periodic Reporting for period 1 - MNRG (GridEye application on optimal multi-energy system management and optimal grid reconfiguration as flexibility tools)
Periodo di rendicontazione: 2021-06-01 al 2023-05-31
One way to verify the secure grid operation within acceptable voltage and loading levels is to assess its required flexibility considering possible boundaries of uncertain variables. In this publication, a flexibility estimation method is proposed which is based on
the feasibility study of the uncertain space of load containing electric vehicles and photovoltaic powers. It allows evaluating the flexibility and lack of flexibility. In addition, the reconfiguration of a system including electrical and thermal energy with the objective of
maximizing the system flexibility is modeled well.
- The MNRG ensures the optimal operation with reduced losses and operation costs compared to situations where there is no optimality.
- Non-convex feasible operation region in different types of CHP units is formulated as a mixed integer linear formulation in the scheduling problem of multi-energy systems.
- The model can detect other factors like voltage limit violation regarding the grid constraints that limit the grid’s flexibility.
- The outcome of proposed model informs the grid operator regarding the time slots with sufficient and insufficient flexibility along with the value of insufficiency considering the uncertainty space.
-The simulation results for the cases considering and neglecting the reconfiguration ability of the grid confirms the improvement of grid flexibility after reconfiguration.
- The proposed model for the reconfiguration and also power flow is a linear and convex mathematical problem that can be solved efficiently with non-commercial solvers and the optimality of the solution is guaranteed.
During the action, the ER had undertaken several measures to communicate, disseminate and exploit the results. She had organized and talked about the findings of MNRG to a varied audience, ranging from the R&D team to commercial and sales team. The ER had organized several workshops within DEPsys and participated in several discussions with the R&D and engineering teams:
