Project description
EC2U Alliance member universities take up R&I
Representing a community of 160 000 students and 20 000 staff, in direct reach to more than 1 600 000 citizens, the European Campus of City Universities (EC2U) is an alliance of seven long-standing education and research-led universities in Europe. The universities will join forces to extend the activities of the EC2U to the R&I fields. The aim of the EU-funded RI4C2 project is to transform the EC2U Alliance into the core driver of a Pan European Knowledge Ecosystem via a series of well-thought activities with local stakeholders. A special focus will be on the promotion of inclusive education and research communities, gender equality, diversity and intersectionality.
Objective
The seven universities composing the European Universities Alliance “EC2U”, rooted in the dialogue between universities and cities, are again joining forces to extend the activities of the EC2U Alliance to the R&I fields, in order to transform the EC2U Alliance into the core driver of a Pan-European Knowledge Ecosystem (PEKE) via a series of well-thought activities with relevant (local) stakeholders: the targeted systemic impact will create a fully-embedded synergy between all four missions of the Knowledge square.
This will be achieved by taking stock of the structures created under the EC2U Erasmus+ project and by complementing them with results and outputs from eight Work Packages (WP) that will act as “mini-engines” aiming at making the associated transformation a reality and delivering all components of the PEKE:
- WP1 “Transformation management”, led by University of Poitiers
- WP2 “EC2U R&I agenda”, led by University of Salamanca
- WP3 “EC2U People empowerment”, led by University of Coimbra
- WP4 “EC2U R&I platforms”, led by University of Pavia
- WP5 “EC2U innovation sphere”, led by University of Jena
- WP6 “EC2U Knowledge ecosystems”, led by University of Iasi
- WP7 “Open EC2U”, led by University of Turku
- WP8 “Transformation dissemination”, led by University of Poitiers
A focus point will be the promotion of inclusive education and research communities, gender equality, diversity and intersectionality.
The dissemination and exploitation of RI4C2 outputs will be performed in direct interaction with the EC2U Alliance, via multiplier events, tools for the diverse communities and global policy guidelines to local, national and European policymakers and stakeholders.
The RI4C2 project will also act as the coordinator of the FOREU2 forum composed of the 24 newly selected Alliances.
