Synergic effects will be sought for with the identified projects in terms of sharing of publishable results, overall orienting of the research and co-organisation of joint actions aiming at project economy optimising. The main tasks are to organize together with other projects and relevant interested stakeholders:•Two clustering workshops during the Raw Material Weeks 2023 and 2024 in Brussels, targeted to other EUfunded projects •Side sessions in relation to other EIS work package workshops and seminars•One clustering event with international projects•4 to 6 SIMS (sixty-minute-seminars) with invited guest projects (final number depending on how many projects were funded under the same call + ongoing projects)•Online discussions with other related projects twice per year

"Task 4.1 (from which ""Co-Base metal minerals potential in a VMS system"" is a delivreable) is dedicated to applying EIS tools in operational environment of primary raw materials exploration. The task is divided in three sub-tasks, each addressing prospectivity modelling of one of the three mineral systems that are studied in WP2, i.e., i) the VMS systems as hosts for economic cobalt mineralization, ii) the lithium-tin tantalum-tungsten minerals in granite/pegmatite-related system, and iii) the rare earths-cobalt minerals in IOCG systems.The application case studies for Co-bearing VMS systems include the Iberian Pyrite Belt (IPB), which is the largest concentration of massive sulphides in the world and a major prospective area in Europe. Here, we plan to integrate data from different sources, including data generated in the project, for constraining the volumes having the most potential for mineralization and especially those with predicted Co enrichment. Integration of the results of basin analysis and structural modifications with existing geophysical, geochemical and geological data using the EIS tools should provide a 2D (and, whenever possible, 3D) scheme of the areas with more potential for drilling. In parallel with the regional case study of the IPB, a more focused case study at district to prospect scale, in the Rio Tinto area, is planned. Additional case studies at prospect scale include the Tisova and Klinghenthal prospects in the Erzgebirge district of the Variscan Bohemian massif, along the Czech-German border. Ongoing exploration and data acquisition in these prospects should provide crucial inputs for prospectivity analysis in EIS."

They will also include the Carajás area in Brazil, at regional scale. Other regional to prospect scale case studies might be included depending on the availability of data."
Use of the UNFC for MPM (si apre in una nuova finestra)The main purpose of this delivreable is to investigate the possible connection between the UNFC and mineral prospectivity mapping to promote the use of UNFC in Europe from the early stages of exploration. It will evaluate the UNFC classification as input data to i) better select deposits for training datasets, and/or ii) weight deposits used as training data based on their class on the G (“degree of confidence”) axis. This will be done by conducting benchmark tests, using the EIS tools and evaluation tools, to evaluate the benefit of considering UNFC classification as input parameters. Test case studies will depend on the availability of datasets that include UNFC classification parameters. Alternatively, it will also investigate how mineral prospectivity analysis can contribute to assess mineral potential at prospect scale and its potential benefit to help coding deposits with UNFC.

An EIS Forum will be organized to engage with a diverse set of relevant stakeholders: policy makers, regulators, Call: [HORIZON-CL4-2021-RESILIENCE-01-06] — [Innovation for responsible EU sourcing of primary raw materials, the foundation of the Green Deal (RIA)] EU Grants: Application form (HE RIA/IA): V1.2 – 25.05.2021 Part B - Page 37 of [45] academia, NGO's, citizens and end-users (exploration companies, industry). The end goal is to build a critical mass of interested stakeholders to stimulate stakeholder engagement and to enhance societal acceptance and uptake of new innovations. The event will combine dialogue sessions, awareness raising activities, demonstrations and workshops to understand the stakeholder needs (end-users and any related third party). The event is also the occasion to identify motivated stakeholders who could be involved throughout the rest of the project and after the project ends, in particular beta-testers who could take part in the test activities of WP4.The event will span over one day and gather around 50 participants. It will also be the occasion to gather community of stakeholders around the project and project ambassadors who will contribute to the dissemination.

The task is divided in three sub-tasks, each addressing prospectivity modelling of one of the three mineral systems that are studied in WP2, i.e., i) the VMS systems as hosts for economic cobalt mineralization, ii) the lithium-tin tantalum-tungsten minerals in granite/pegmatite-related system, and iii) the rare earths-cobalt minerals in IOCG systems.The application case studies for Li-Sn-Ta-W-bearing granite/pegmatites will include segments of the variscan belt in the Armorican, Central and Bohemian massifs (NW France, Central France and Czech-German boundary, respectively), at regional and/or prospect scale. Other regional and/or local case studies will be selected in the Fennoscandian shield (Central Ostrobothnia in Finland, Västernorland in Sweden) and in western South Africa."
Secondary raw materials prospectivity mapping with the EIS (si apre in una nuova finestra)The purpose of this delivreable is to evaluate the capability of the EIS toolboxes to produce mineral prospectivity maps for secondary raw materials (from mines and/or from processing/metallurgical wastes). Critical proxies from WP2 for defining relevant geoscientific input data will certainly not be applicable for this task. Proxies tosecondary raw materials lack the aspect of formation of the deposit (waste rock deposit) and are detected based on how the actual waste pile shows up in geoscientific data. The task of defining relevant data for secondary raw materials mapping will first require a dataset of mining and/or processing/metallurgical wastes with the connection to their original deposits. The main output of this will be an evaluation of the EIS capability to process mining waste data and recommendations how to facilitate mineral prospectivity mapping for secondary raw materials.
