"Ecosystem management approaches available, based on a review of the activity-pressures-effects chain towards achieving GES in the MSFD: A description of the ecosystem management approaches will be provided as means to set up the basis to complete OUT4- ""EBM approaches and policy measures for activities to reduce pressures to ensure GES and will enable the sustainability of coastal and marine ecosystems to deliver services and be resilient to rapid climate and environmental changes"""

Selected methods and potential applications in project LSs

Selected methods and potential applications in the project LS: this will include the description of methods and modelling techniques to quantify the linkages between pressure/state and between state and the capacity to supply ecosystem services through ecosystem functioning so they can be applied to LSs. Practical guidance (e.g. decision-tree) will be provided to future end-users as a means to facilitate this process and for application in marine ecosystems with different amounts of data.

"Guidelines (Best Practical alternatives) for Practical Ecosystem Approach: these guidelines will provide proposals based on lessons learnt and discussed with the PAB and translated into management recommendations, useful for OUT1- ""Policy implementing authorities at national and regional level can assess and predict impacts (incl. tipping points) of multiple stressors on coastal and marine biodiversity (cf. sensitive species and habitats), ecosystems functioning and relevant services (including climate change adaptation, resilience and human health)"" and in building the basis for OUT4-""EBM approaches and policy measures for activities to reduce pressures to ensure GES"""
