European benchmark on harvest allocation and potential for optimization

Analysis of different types of allocation of harvest for several European countries, with a specific focus on timber and panels outlets. Comparison between countries and identification of improvements opportunities to allow for a higher part of long-lived end products.

Barriers and opportunities

Review of environmental, technical and institutional barriers and opportunities of forest- based mitigation and adaptation strategies as identified in past projects and relevant scientific papers.

Perceptions and expectations forest managers and owners

Report on existing perception about climate change effects on forests, opinions on forest management strategies and measures for climate change mitigation/adaptation and expressed needs towards science-based information about alternative mitigation/adaptation strategies.

Harmonized management rules and model output

Open-source versions of PICUS, GOTILWA+, SIMA, and LMDzOR with harmonized forest management rules and output variable definitions.

Plan for implementation and risk monitoring

Definition of how to monitor the project progress (responsible persons and tasks) and how to monitor the risks including their contingency and mitigation.

Information material

Preparation of information material: design of INFORMA visual identity, leaflet, poster, website, project presentation video, templates, and project PowerPoint presentation.
