Periodic Reporting for period 2 - NIGHT4FUTURE (The Future of Earth is Possible Through Collaboration between Scientists from Different Fields)

Researchers' Night 2023 was a continuation of previous activities and focused on showing how to stop climate change, environmental protection (especially water and soil), sustainable food production, sustainable transport, referring to the priorities set by the European Commission in the framework of the European Green Deal and the EU Mission Statement on which Horizon Europe is based.
Therefore, during the Researchers' Night 2023 in Poznan we focused on how cooperation in different fields of research and innovation help to save and protect the environment, we helped the audience to understand this research and we taught how to live in a sustainable way, how to involved our surroundings. Scientists made citizens aware of their own role and responsibilities in local contexts (ECO-local) actions that can have impact on global changes.
Environmental degradation is a global problem and the actions of one person alone will not stop the changes taking place, so we emphasized the role of science in stopping them. For this reason, the main motto of the NIGHT4FUTURE project is: "The future of the Earth is possible thanks to constant cooperation of scientists from different fields".
The NIGHT4FUTURE project involves 8 permanent participants with a firm, stable scientific and research position in Poland, the diversity of which provides attractions in many areas of science. This provides the project with effective promotional activities and capture the audience interested in various topics thus supplying effective promotional activities.

The NIGHT4FUTURE project involves 8 permanent participants with a firm, stable scientific and research position in Poland, the diversity of which provides attractions in many areas of science. This provides the project with effective promotional activities and capture the audience interested in various topics thus supplying effective promotional activities.
1. Poznan University of Technology, presented their inventions and the latest achievements that contribute to the study of the state of the environment and in reducing bad effects, having connection with EU Missions, e.g. an astronomical observatory that tracks space debris; how new technologies help predict natural disasters, where renewable energy resources are located, zero-emission buildings, green public transport. There was workshops teaching water quality testing and simple water purification; demonstrations of waste sorting and reuse, remote monitoring of pollution and how to reduce and eliminate it.
2. Poznan Supercomputing and Networking Centre showed environmentally computers, showed how climate change and environmental protection can be influenced by digital technologies such as artificial intelligence or the Internet of things.
3. Poznan University of Life Sciences presented workshops related to the natural ecosystem, ecological agriculture and animal husbandry, sustainable food production and consumerism.
4. Adam Mickiewicz University considered the climate problems of the Poznan agglomeration in 2030, ecological bombs all over Poland, the environment of biorecycling of animals, water retention.
5. Academy of Physical Education learned about the health of the body and how to do it through sports and physical activities.
6. Poznan University of Economics and Business showed how to be eco-friendly and how can you match making money and protecting the environment. Is sustainable economy the answer to global threats?
7. Institute of Molecular Physics PAS showed how to create green energy.
8. Institute of Human Genetics PAS focused on showing how health sciences affect the ecological lifestyle.
The ceremonial inauguration of the Researchers' Night took place on September 29, 2023 in the Auditorium of the Lecture Center of the Poznan University of Technology. There was a ceremonial cutting of balloons by the invited representatives of the University participating in the event. After Inauguration was perform even „PHYSICS BALLOON SHOW".

In 2023, the Researchers' Night - one of the most popular science events in Poland. At the Poznan University of Technology in an organization of event involved over 400 employees and students. Media analysis (monitoring of 1,100 press titles and 5 million Polish-language internet portals) reach rate of announcement about the Researchers' Night was showed as many as 2,747,158 (number of real broadcasts with a single publication).
