Investigating joints modelling techniques, considering the failure behaviour of multi-material joints; Selecting of suitable joining and micromechanics models of the bonded joints; Modelling and simulation of joints including failure assessment under crash loads.

Definition of procedures, viability and sustainability (si apre in una nuova finestra)

Feasibility of mass-saving cost vs. structural performance of the developed BCFES/ACFES and asso-ciated developed materials; Identification of cost-effective manufacturing processes and technologi-cal constraints; Sustainability from the LCA perspective; recommendation on component prototype and preparation for production, allowing a minimum number of various realistic tests to be per-formed.

Analysis of the crash and compatibility behaviour of the vehicles with the redesigned components; Configurations assessment (e.g. frontal, multi-angles crash); Comprehensive set of simulation runs including: Validation of the functional behavior of the developed FES-components in full vehicle crash scenarios; Evaluation of the functional performance and weight saving potential of the FES-components; Assessment of the safety level for the different FES-types in in standard Euro NCAP configurations and additional crash scenarios, derived from future mixed traffic accidents.
