Data Management Plan (si apre in una nuova finestra)

D6.1 will be led by IRCER. Data Management Plan (DMP) is defined during the first 6 months of the project to define the type of data/research outputs that will be covered, to guarantee the compliance with the FAIR data principles and to establish how data will be stored and preserved. Two short review reports; the plan will be reviewed adapted if required in M30.

Progress of refractory thermo-chemical data base and phase determ. at H2 atm. (si apre in una nuova finestra)

Report on progress of thermodynamic modelling using the FactSage and ThermoCalc computation packages; with thermodynamic, kinetic and phase-based approaches the properties for the individual phases are modelled as a function of composition, temperature, and pressure.

Report about the provision (incl. processing) of materials for the different PhDs (si apre in una nuova finestra)

D1.4 will be led by IRCER.The Individual Research Projects (PhD5-10) dealing mainly with WP2 (Microstructure design for increased sustainability) will have firstly to select the pertinent raw materials (primarily and secondary), the processing routes, and the recipes for their pertinent model systems to be investigated. Starting from an inventory of available primarily and secondary raw materials, arguments will be provided for the selection of those to be investigated in priority with the most valuable processing route and with targeted properties to be evaluated. Based on the elaborated strategy, the work plan organisation will be setup.

State of art report on promising site configurations for Net-Zero emission iron and steelmaking processes and consequently challenges in refractory lining concepts and materials choice. Advice on additional measurements and modelling activities.

LCA of recycling processes of refract. mat., with eco-design recommendations (si apre in una nuova finestra)

D1.3 will be led by CHEMENG.Based on a close collaboration with industrial partners, the environmental impact associated to the recycling processes of refractory materials will be evaluated. Several scenarios will be considered, when relevant, for the use of recycled materials: as secondary refractory raw materials (to be improved) or in other applications such as roadbed aggregates. Several environmental indicators will be calculated, following the PEF (Product Environmental Footprint) methodology, from existing recycling processes or from new routes tested at lab or pilot scale. Based on the obtained results and identified hotspots, ecodesign recommendations will be made in order to reduce the environmental impact associated to refractory materials recycling.

Optimization approaches for improving energy efficiency and durability (si apre in una nuova finestra)

Documentation of the strategies and methods for leveraging new tools to improve the energy efficiency and durability of refractories in steel plants. A critical discussion of requirements, expected impact and shortcomings of each approach is provided.

Report about Scientific Publications (si apre in una nuova finestra)

D6.3 will be led by IRCER. Assessment of high-quality journal papers, book chapters, peer-reviewed conferences produced by the partners and PhDs.

Report about events using “Cerami°K” interactive exhibition (si apre in una nuova finestra)

Evaluation report about the exhibition that will be animated/presented by PhDs during Open Days organized at all participating institutions and events for the general public.

Report on solid-state phase transition and transformation as a function of temperature (si apre in una nuova finestra)

D2.1 will be led by IRCER. Results from evaluations of ESRF (European Synchrotron Radiation Facility) will allow for conclusions about phase changes, stoichiometry variations, and thermal expansion anisotropies at high temperatures.

D7.3 will be led by IRCER. CESAREF Website, dedicated to non-confidential research and network-related communications will target three types of audience: general public without a strong technical background, experts in the field interested in the project results, and participants of the project.
