The SustDesignTex Twinning project's general objective is to establish a long-term strategic partnership between TUL (Faculty of Materials Technology and Textile Design - FMTTD), top-class leading counterparts at the EU level (UZ, ITA, HB), and the Polish company active in the field of the project results' implementation – WAD in particular through networking activities. The networking and partnership implemented in the project will raise the TUL, FMTTD institutional research profile in industrial design of innovative textile structures for composites, as well as advance the research profile of TUL as an institution and the TUL staff, including a special focus on strengthening the research management and administrative skills in this HEI. The general objective will be gained via building on the huge potential of networking for excellence through knowledge transfer in the specified field, based on the joint implementation of a research microproject and a preliminary exchange of the best practice between TUL and the partners due to joint research activities and a set of Coordination and Support Activities organized around the microproject.
The SustDesignTex project has achieved remarkable milestones through collaborative efforts to establish networking among consortium partners. Since the project's initiation, a robust and enduring network has been formed through dedicated cooperation among all partners, employing various strategic methods outlined in different work packages. This networking initiative has positively impacted both individual and institutional levels, empowering TUL and other consortium members in numerous ways. The collaborative strategies implemented during the realization of SustDesignTex have played a pivotal role in skill development, increased visibility, and the creation of a collaborative environment that transcends consortium boundaries. This collaboration has significantly contributed to the overall advancement of institutions, particularly in international project proposal preparation, staff and research management, and administration. Additionally, working jointly on microprojects has provided cutting-edge solutions to challenges raised by the industry partner. Furthermore, the exchange of knowledge and experiences has fostered a dynamic environment where institutions learn from one another, leading to improvements in efficiency, effectiveness, and innovation. Actively participating in collaborative efforts has opened up new opportunities for partnerships, funding, and initiatives, further advancing TUL’s and other consortium members’ institutional development.
The paramount goal of SustDesignTex project is to create an enduring network between the Lodz University of Technology (TUL), Faculty of Material Technologies and Textile Design with the counterpart advanced universities, namely Institut für Textiltechnik of RWTH Aachen University (ITA), University of Borås (HB), University of Zaragoza (UNIZAR) and an industry partner, Wademekum (WAD).
The networking established during the implementation of SustDesignTex has significantly propelled TUL's progress in various dimensions, particularly in the context of international project proposal preparations, the development of staff’s research management and administrative skills, visibility of TUL researchers on the international stages, creating collaborative opportunity for the researchers, administrative staffs, and students with the advanced partners, advancing the institutional developments. The exposure gained through the networking activities has proven instrumental in honing the expertise of TUL's personnel, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
