Risultati finali
The aim of this deliverable is to consolidate the list of transition objectives, criteria and indicators coming from D2.3 after discussion and revision through the Transition Arenas. Its success will be verified by assessing the impact of the visions into the development of the transition pathways under Task 2.5. This deliverable is directly linked to Task 2.3 of WP2 and deliverable D2.3, and indirectly to the remaining tasks under WP2, especially Task 2.5
Multi-scale resource maps and WEF Nexus indicators (access, and availability) (si apre in una nuova finestra)A report of diagnostic analysis of water systems including mapping of water uses and stakeholders involved (government institutions, civil society, research and academia, business) as well as interconnected energy and agricultural systems. This deliverable refers to Task 1.1 and will contribute to WP2 and WP3.
An inventory of conceptualised assessment problems (case studies of multiple scales in the Volta and Tana basins) for planned and operational WEF infrastructures (si apre in una nuova finestra)A report outlining inventory (initial scenario corresponding to the inventory in 2022) from which the 3 climatic and socio-economic scenarios will be designed and analysed for long-term energy planning and operational management questions. This deliverable refers to Tasks 1.1 and 1.2; it provides input to WP4 and WP5.
A CLEWs Audit Report of the Volta Basin and Tana Basin (si apre in una nuova finestra)This deliverable is a report on data integration needs, data infrastructure needs, status of data (open, proprietary) and the quality of the data in the Volta and Tana Basins to validate key project assumptions. This will serve as key input for the implementation of a CLEWs Data Observatory (Platform) for the case countries in Africa that allows micro-services for WEF nexus thereby sustaining the Volta Basin Observatory and the Kenya Agricultural Observatory platforms beyond the project. It relates to Tasks 3.1 and Task 3.3.
Terms of Reference for Transition Arenas (si apre in una nuova finestra)The TOR is an instrument that aims to make sure that the Transition Arenas’ scoping is clearly understood by and open to all actors involved in the process; this document discusses in a synthetic way (max. 5 pages) the basic governance parameters of modelling in EPIC Africa. This aim will be verified by having the actors involved acknowledge the understanding on the TOR once shared with them. This deliverable is directly linked to Task 2.2 under WP2, as well as indirectly to the remaining tasks under WP2.
Governance frameworks of Volta and Tana river basins (si apre in una nuova finestra)This deliverable refers to a report on Mapping and diagnostic analysis of the existing legislative, regulatory and institutional framework in the Volta and Tana basins. This will also make use of qualitative snowballing approaches to collect the opinion of the actors identified in Task 1.1 on the long-term planning model designed as well as on the proposed measures by models. This deliverable refers to Task 2.1 and informs the Transition Arena activities in WP2.
Transition objectives, criteria and indicators - V1 (si apre in una nuova finestra)The aim of this deliverable is to draft a first list of transition objectives, criteria and indicators that will be discussed and revised with the Transition Arenas in order to set up future visions for the WEF nexus. It will be successfully verified by assessing its presentation during the Transition Arena meetings and posterior discussion and revision. This deliverable is directly linked to Tasks 2.3 of WP2 and deliverable D2.4, and indirectly to the remaining tasks under WP2, especially Task 2.5.
EARN Report (on networking activities - i.e. workshops, seminars and conference) - V1 (si apre in una nuova finestra)This deliverable refers to Task 6.1 Set up the EPIC Africa Research Network (EARN). The aim of the task is to setup a Research Network between Centres of Excellence in Ghana and Kenya focused on Water, Food and Energy. The network will organise seminars, conferences and workshops to disseminate project results and also develop policy briefs at the National and Regional level. The learnings and preliminary results will be published in a report.
A second release version of the growing digital platform in D3.2 to become the CLEWs observatory, expanded through planning and operational problems considered in WP4 and WP5. This deliverable refers to Task 3.3.
Alpha version of the EPIC Africa CLEWs Observatory (si apre in una nuova finestra)This deliverable will be a demonstrator of the first version of a growing digital platform with APIs for seamlessly integrating access to multi-source CLEWs, infrastructure and socio-economic data sets. The observatory will connect global and national open data sets, climate projections and new data sets from the EPIC Africa, which are essential ingredients for planning activities (WP4) and operational aspects (WP5). This will be used for planning and operational decisions as input. This deliverable refers to Task 3.1 and Task 3.3.
The long term WEF modelling tool for investment planning and optimisation (si apre in una nuova finestra)This deliverable refers to task 4.1 Long-term and geospatially specific WEF model for infrastructure planning and optimisation. In this deliverable, the long-term OSeMOSYS optimisation model and GIS-based OnSSET energy access optimising tool will be soft linked. In addition, these tools will be developed to include storage technologies like PHES, hydrogen storage, and battery storage. The outcome of this model will act as input for Task 1.2, Task 1.3 and WP5. The designed model will be shared within the project and become open source and available on GitHub by the end of the project (M48).
