Risultati finali

Report on fit-for-purpose assessment of regulatory instruments (si apre in una nuova finestra)

This deliverable includes a review of extant regulatory frameworks and policy formulation that frame permitting processes (of extractive activities in environmentally protected areas) at EU and MS level. Particular attention will be given to the definition of risks to protected areas posed by extractive activities and to legal obligations and practices enforcing the EU conservation efforts (Birds and Habitats Directives) and the goals of the EU Biodiversity Strategy for 2030.

Description of good-practice case studies (si apre in una nuova finestra)

This deliverable will detail the analysis of 15 new and 19 already described cases-studies (of extractive activities in environmentally protected areas), identifying enablers, factors and benchmarks to be used in WP3, WP4 and WP5, substantiating transposition and implementation conditions to other contexts. The analysis will address how system boundaries were drawn to define protected areas, how this affects habitats and biodiversity outside of the protected areas, and what kind of impact assessment strategies and methodologies were/are used to protect/enhance conservation efforts.

Catalogue of emerging low-impact, low-visibility extraction methods (si apre in una nuova finestra)

This deliverable will include a comprehensive appraisal of advanced extraction methods (detailing technologies, processes and strategies used across the mine life-cycle, from the exploration stage to closure and rehabilitation). The report will evaluate low-impact and low-visibility exploration and extraction methods that may be considered for use in environmentally protected areas (using cutting-edge and emerging mining technologies and strategies).

Criteria for ‘good practices’ in systemic permitting (si apre in una nuova finestra)

This deliverable defines procedures for maximising the added value on natural ecosystems of man-made rehabilitation of extractive sites, building upon good practices and methods derived from case studies' analyses to reinforce conservation efforts.

Plan for Dissemination and Exploitation (si apre in una nuova finestra)

This deliverable will be developed iteratively with the Consortium, taking into consideration their potential contributions and links to key stakeholders, decision-makers and influencers. The Plan will define communication and outreach activities and corresponding timings, responsible, target audiences, core messages and communication vehicles (e.g., project website, social media platforms, promotional material), to ensure that project knowledge and findings will reach and be uptaken by target groups. The plan will be reviewed and updated at M18 and M36.

Baseline Report on missing segments and supply chain vulnerabilities (si apre in una nuova finestra)

This report will advance a baseline of raw materials needed to attain the EU Green Deal objectives and environmental and biodiversity protection requirements and vulnerabilities. The baseline will be built using the Logical Framework approach, and it will also encompass societal and economic aspects in the formulation of a logframe that will provide policymakers and -implementers with a blueprint for systemic and contextualised approaches.

Narratives for public deliberation processes (si apre in una nuova finestra)

This report will outline the key functions of narratives to be considered in CIRAN's public deliberation processes enabling:a) the articulation of nuanced perspectives (including peoples’ values and ‘how’ they come to their current positions);b) the diversification of how perspectives are communicated;c) the encouragement of public participation in debates;d) the challenge of presumptions; and e) the reinforcement of appropriate empathy in collective positions or outcomes.

Data Management Plan (si apre in una nuova finestra)

The Data Management Plan will detail:a) types of data collected or generated, b) standards used, c) how data are curated and preserved, d) relation to IPR requirements and exploitation strategies, and e) compliance with GDPR 95/46/EC.Particular attention will be given to data security guidelines, including data recovery, secure storage/archiving and transfer of sensitive data.
