Periodic Reporting for period 2 - SNS OPS (SUPPORTING THE SNS JU OPERATIONS)
Periodo di rendicontazione: 2024-03-01 al 2025-03-31
During the life of the SNS OPS project, the project activities of the SNS JU will start and approximately 38 new projects are expected to be launched in the first phase, and another set of projects in the second phase. These projects and their participants, will have to be integrated into the SNS JU operational structure, signed up for the program level collaboration agreement and invited into the cross-project workgroups and other programme level activities.
In addition to this the SNS OPS project will assist the preparation work for subsequent phases of the SNS JU whereby analysis of the program coverage and emerging project results can be fed back into the preparation work for future phases of the SNS JU.
These objectives can be organised around three thematic aspects of the SNS OPS project work that can be considered as having different targets and impacts:
** The strategic work **
At a strategic level there is a close relation between the planned activities of the SNS OPS project, in terms of the expected outcomes, and the ambitions of the SNS JU as a whole.
** The operational, logistics and support work **
There is an explicit need to ensure that the SNS JU, as a large-scale programme with a seven-year perspective and expectations of 100+ projects and 1000+ participating organisations, is orchestrated in an efficient and effective way.
** The community diaspora work **
The size and scale of the SNS JU will mean that the programme involves a large number of participants so there will be a need to involve these players – through the projects and the 6G IA membership – in the ongoing assessments of the SNS programme, its progress, future directions and how to incrementally improve the programme level activities to have more value and impact. To achieve this the SNS OPS project will consolidate and present the value and relevance of the SNS activities to a wide community of involved players.
• Development of a Europe wide forum for addressing the Communication Network Technologies and systems in the context of 6G global developments.
• Support for the identification of strategic R&I orientations including at global level, the coordination of R&I results/initiatives at EU scale including Member State level initiatives, the dissemination and web presence, the organisation of Europe's contribution to standards, and the identification of international cooperation priorities across key regions.
• Generation, publication, and promotion of common technical papers showing the work and consensus of the SNS projects, in particular via the support to the various SNS related Working Groups.
• Stimulation of future R&I actions - "grow a project pipeline".

• Maximised output and exploitation of SNS project results in key domains, e.g. standardisation, spectrum
• Inter JU coordination and joint actions.
• Continual improvement process based on regular assessments of SNS KPIs and strategic actions via future workplans to improve the achievement of the SNS goals;
• A strong cooperation with the operational process of the private Member of the JU, notably in support of R&I, events and stakeholder management at large.
The main achievements in period 2 have been the continued support of the collaborative inter-project activities in the SNS JU by supporting the bodies in the SNS-Initiative (SB, TB and project-initiated Working Groups) and their activities, the monitoring of plans and assessment of achieved progress as well as the update of the SNS vision, supporting the SNS communication activities including e.g. the SNS website, newsletters and social media channels, supporting the evolution of the Collaboration Agreement and ensuring all beneficiaries in SNS acced to it, maintaining the SNS IT infrastructure, organising and participating in a large number of events, and making significant progress with implementing the stakeholder involvement strategy, to build a robust SNS community.
