SMCNetZero is an 18-month project focusing on creating and strengthening local innovation ecosystems in SMCs and creating a Satellite Network of innovation actors including public sector representatives from Small and Medium-sized cities (SMCs), SMEs, academia, NGOs, and investors across Europe.
The SMCNetZero project is designed to foster the adoption of zero-emission solutions. After the Market Analysis Research, the project highlights the transport, digital planning, and energy sectors across small and medium-sized cities (SMCs) and SMEs. By encouraging the dissemination of essential information on decarbonization solutions, funding opportunities, and market participants, the project aims to facilitate informed decision-making and adoption of innovative technologies. To enhance collaboration and networking, a digital space and toolkit will be developed, connecting providers of zero-emission solutions with public authorities from SMCs.
The project also focuses on identifying and engaging innovation leaders from the public and private sectors across various regions, ensuring the delivery of high-value content and active participation in project activities. A critical aspect of the project is to ensure broad participation and maximize impact, with a particular emphasis on engaging underrepresented groups and organizations. Finally, the project aims to facilitate the implementation and scale-up of innovation projects within SMCs by developing core common solutions and promoting demand aggregation. This approach will not only increase the market attractiveness for SMEs but also provide better value for the cities involved, paving the way for a more sustainable and economically viable future.
