Periodic Reporting for period 1 - STARHAUS (Sustainable, Technological, Accessible and Resilient human-centric manufacturing supporting the New European Bauhaus through synergies between customized production and consumption models)
Periodo di rendicontazione: 2023-12-01 al 2025-05-31
The project is inspired by the New European Bauhaus, paying particular attention to regenerative design and regenerative and value-added manufacturing and adopting a Human-centric and participatory approach, with contributions from Social Sciences and Humanities (SSH), the project is promoting collaborative models between domain experts, artists, and technology providers. Improved access to flexible production capabilities in decentralised environments, especially for SMEs is being ensured by FSTP and accurate promotion of collaborative models with domain experts, artists and technology providers.
The STARHAUS approach is leveraging creativity in interdisciplinary and artistic disciplines and offer a process model towards viable solutions. STARHAUS is focusing on delivering an impact inside modern consumer communities to propagate behavioral and technological changes that can reshape our lives. The consumption habits of modern consumers must be changed to adopt healthy and sustainable solutions that can be achieved at affordable prices without compromising quality.
1. Co-design methodology and toolkit development: Established the STARHAUS co-design approach involving stakeholders across the value chain, and created a multilingual toolkit to support workshops and scenario planning for four use cases.
2. Vision building and research integration: Conducted desk research to embed New European Bauhaus (NEB) values into the project vision, supported by urban manufacturing trend analysis and lighthouse demonstrator studies.
3. Technology adaptation and concept generation: Reconfigured digital platforms, modularized the MDF machine, and developed preliminary concepts for seven innovative modules. Data structures were iterated and integrated into a middleware-based data hub.
4. Unified software and scenario visualization: Grouped use cases into solids and liquids, leading to a unified software interface. AI-supported workshops helped visualize future scenarios and refine concepts.
5. Open Innovation Calls (OICs): Launched three Open Calls distributing €100,000 each to SMEs. OIC#1 - Vision, OIC#2 - Arts and Technology Residencies and OIC# 3- Business for Community.
6. Collaborative workshops and toolkit refinement: Held multiple co-design sessions and prepared toolkit templates for SMEs. Planned workshops to fine-tune tools for broader user groups and assess strengths and weaknesses across use cases.
