Secretariat of the European Sustainable Nuclear Energy Technology Platform

Objectif

The European Sustainable Nuclear Energy Technology Platform (SNE-TP) was launched on 21 September 2007, has issued its Vision Report, and constituted its Working Groups. An «informal» secretariat has been supporting these operations. This secretariat evolved from the Organising Committee of the SNE-TP Launch Conference, with a small group of organisations (CEA, E.ON UJV, FORATOM) committed to the successful launch of the Platform, dedicating significant effort to supporting the first few months of the operation of the different bodies of the Platform (Governing Board, Executive Committee and Working Groups), including the elaboration of a first version of the SNE-TP website and internal workspace. However, it soon became clear that the Platform requires a full-time commitment from a professional organisation with expertise in project secretariat, web content management, and public communication. Therefore, the initial SNE-TP Secretariat decided to call on a specialised company to act as the main support organisation. LGI has experience in management of European projects in the nuclear field. The present proposal for a Support Action 'SNE-TP Office' describes how the necessary support for the operations of the Platform bodies and WGs, as well as for the TP's communication strategy, will be provided. The new secretariat's objectives are to ensure efficiency, reactivity, maximised impact and visibility. Its work includes tasks such as: professional publications, website management, continuous secretariat and information centre, organisation of meetings, and participations in international events.
