The Project Entrophase was meant to introduce a new notion of solution, called ``entropic solution'' which could be useful for a better mathematical description of several applications to industry, physics, chemistry and biology. This purpose has been attained in different directions because this concept has been introduced in the framework of phase transitions and damage in thermoviscoelastic materials as it was expected at the beginning of the Project, but it has been fruitfully employed then in other, apparently different, applications, to complex systems like liquid crystals dynamics or bio-medical phenomena, like tumor growth. These apparently different applications have been indeed joint under common denominator of diffuse interface models and their analytical study has been deeply investigated within the new techniques introduced by Entrophase, which has now paved the way for further developments in these fields.
