The Elementary Theory of Partially Commutative Groups

Final Report Summary - PCG (The Elementary Theory of Partially Commutative Groups)

Groups are the mathematical objects that measure symmetry. They are ubiquitous in all branches of mathematics, which makes them amenable to be studied from many different perspectives. This project centered on the study of groups from the model-theoretic perspective. More precisely, the we studied the model theory of a prominent class of groups known as partially commutative or right-angled Artin groups. The main outcome of the project is the relation we established between the geometry of these groups, (real) cubings, their algebraic structure and the implications for their first-order theory.
