Emerging Users Demands for Sustainable Solutions (EMUDE) is a SSA the aim of which is to outline comprehensive maps of emerging sustainable users demands, from which a set of qualitative scenarios (on how these demands, and the consequent products and services innovation, may co-evolve) will generate. The objective of EMUDE is to translate these scenarios in roadmaps for future research and development activities, to inform and inspire the decision-makers and to influence the future end-users perception and demands. More precisely, EMUDE will give to the ones in charge to prepare future researches and innovation activities some synthetic visions on the emerging users demands and promising cases of bottom-up innovations. NMP Priority states: "there will not be sustainable development without the demand from users for sustainable solutions". Moving from here, EMUDE intends to give visibility to emerging users demands and to the corresponding needs in terms of research in the field of product-services systems innovation. EMUDE is articulated in three main actions:
- To collect information on "promising cases" of emerging phenomena on sustainable consumption and bottom-up innovation in Europe;
- To give the promising cases highest visibility (generating trends, scenarios and roadmaps);
- To communicate and disseminate the results (thanks to a conference and a book), in order to orient future research and to inspire policy-makers. The EMUDE Consortium comprehends some of the most experienced institutions in the concerned fields of research, a partner of a Candidate Country, two international organisations (UNEP and Consumers International) and a Network of "Antennas" (based on 8 design schools in 5 European Members Countries and 3 Candidate Countries). Given the nature of its results (trends and scenarios) and given its proposed structure (a wide network of partners), it may be assumed that EMUDE will be able to generate a great impact at the European scale
