Agreement on a new single license model for instore audio systems for European collecting societies

A novel royalty and collecting fee procedures for music in branding services are designed and advertised.

ABC DJ implementation in territories outside Europe

Report lays the foundations for a possible transfer of novel audio branding and instore music concepts, monetising schemes to Asia and the Americas. A first survey of procedural, legal, technical and cultural requirements for the export of audio branding services is produced.

Report on collecting schemes Europe

Comprehensive study of the different policies and European rates applicable to music used in audio branding or as 'background music' charged by rights collecting societies, both for copyright and phonographic rights. This is part one of a policy analysis with stakeholders from the professional user group of music providers focussing on collecting societies in EU. A structured overview of existing schemes is delivered and used for the development of alternative schemes to be evaluated, promoted and implemented in T7.4.

Music providers landscape Europe

Production of a comprehensive overview over the landscape of European music creators and their respective multipliers in an audio branding and instore music context. This includes an investigation of music management procedures as well as audio file formats and qualities in use. An opening investigation of the same issues for the Americas and Asia is carried out.

Survey report: Audio branding support systems

Existing applications (tools) and their functionalities in terms of audio branding are surveyed.

Report on European IP laws for audio branding context

A comprehensive survey about cunrrent IP laws is produced to provide a clear idea of their respective objectives and modifications and how they affect the audio branding sector and its production processes. Gathered information and conclusions are transferred into recommendations which have to be taken into account for (novel) branding services and business models.

Project Website

Set-up of a growing public ABC DJ web-site that constitutes the central point for all project information. Aside from the public part a restricted (protected) section is reserved for consortium-internal communication, maintaining the partner's knowledge database (background / foreground) managed by WP1 as well as communication with the EC and project reviewers. Public pages will over time in any case present: a project portrait, partners' profiles, scientific achievements and public deliverables, visible and audible examples, prototype depictions, a blog, connections with other social media channels, a press section and an event calendar.
