WP4 Report on published papers and data platform Report with information on WP4 published papers and data platform Open Research Data Pilot (1) Data management plan USTRATH will create a Data Management Plan using Data Management Plan Online (DMP online), the community standard and University of Strathclyde approved tool for writing DMPs. Websites, patent fillings, videos etc. (6) COHESIFY survey tool A survey tool will be constructed for conducting the surveys listed in Task 4.2. The data collection tool will contain traditional survey-type questions, such as Likert items, but also open-ended questions. At t least two surveys, potentially administered simultaneously, are envisaged: the first will target the EU-level actors, while the second will focus on the stakeholders at the national and regional levels. Online platform for case study results A survey tool will be constructed for conducting the surveys for case studies Databse of political party documents Produce a database covering the policy-programme documents – such as election manifestos, coalition agreements, government statements of political parties and (coalition) governments from the regional level of 10 case study Member States over time (at least two legislative periods). This will involve collecting party policy documents and transforming them into machine-readable documents to enable the application of semi- and fully-computerised methods of content analysis to extract the European policy position of parties and governments acting on the sub-state level. This exercise will be able to exploit and build on an existing database that covers the full text of more than 1,700 election manifestos of parties from the regional level in eight EU Member States. Database territorial typology of regions Establish a territorial typology database, identifying clusters of countries/regions according to identity, political culture, territorial and institutional characteristics, receptiveness vulnerability and desirability of EU Cohesion policy. This typology will be the basis for the selection of case studies. The COHESIFY data platform The COHESIFY data platform will integrate the output of the WP4 tasks related to data collection and analysis on the one hand, and content dissemination activities on the other. The COHESIFY platform has two subtasks at its core. First, a data mining and sentiment analysis platform to search and store relevant information from selected media available online in which Cohesion policy is presented and/or discussed. Second, a survey tool for conducting the surveys in WP4. Project website The website will be operational by month 2, and this task will involve regularly updating the site during the course of the project. It will provide updates on progress and results from all the WPs, as well as downloadable digital brochures, press releases and infographics will be available on the website. Importantly, the website is not intended to be a passive repository of information but used actively as a knowledge-management tool. In particular, it is intended to engage academics, policymakers and practitioners in the sharing of knowledge on Cohesion policy, communication and citizens’ identification with the EU. For example, in the communication field, it will provide a platform for sharing resources on communication best practice (e.g. evaluations, studies, guidelines, narratives, case studies, communication tools, training activities). This would progressively build up a database of resources in a structured manner covering activity type, objectives, duration, target group, outcomes/impact, added value, challenges overcome and lessons learned. The database of communication evaluations/studies would cover the type of evaluation, scope, methods used, results, challenges, lessons and recommendations for increasing civic appreciation. The project website will incorporate the survey platforms specified in WP3 and WP4.
