Functional identification control systems for demonstratorsThis will be a functional system ready to integrate the contributions, in a phased approach, from workpackages 5 and 6. Biometric sensor solutions for bordersThis deliverable represents a selection of individual hardware and software solutions for biometrics applicable in principle to the scenarios considered in PROTECT, and represents the according work undertaken in Tasks 5.1 – 5.5. A report will accompany the solutions, analysing the delivered status with its limitations and describing corresponding additional innovations planned in D5.2. The solutions presented will serve as the first input for integration in WP8.
Scenario specific sensor solutionsThis deliverable represents a mapping, selection, and customisation of the individual biometric solutions investigated under Tasks 5.1 – 5.5 to each of the scenarios: Biometric corridor, ePassports, and mobile devices. A detailed investigation will be carried out in the sensor selection process which encompasses all aspects of applicability including data collection and handling issues and also comprises dedicated new developments (also w.r.t. development of experimental sensing devices) to customise the application of a certain modality to each of the scenarios, including interoperability with current ePassport solutions and the critical issue of data acquisition security for mobile devices.
The final demonstrators including all contributed biometric components will be operational at the demonstration sites. Assembly, disassembly and operation manuals will be available.
Final demonstration 2A final demonstrations at one of the two selected end user border crossing sites. Each demonstration will last 1-2 days and an appropriate selection of stakeholders will be invited to attend. Sex/gender analysis will be taken into account to ensure volunteers are of different sex, ethnic and racial origin.
