SustainAble Farming for Effective Aquaculture

Risultati finali

Methods for metabolites analysis in shrimp intestines

Metabolites will be extracted from shrimp intestines from T5.1. The frozen tissues will be lyophilized, ground and extracted with chloroform/methanol/water-based solution. The extraction conditions will be optimized to obtain maximum yield of the targeted metabolites involved in quorum sensing pathway. The extracted metabolites will be subjected to UPLC-MS/MS. Chromatographic separation and mass spectrometry parameters will be optimized to specific extracts to acquire the mass profiles.

A workshop on ‘Innate immunity of invertebrates’

Report on the organisation of a workshop-Linked to WP6 activities

Establishment of microbial community analysis platforms and data analysis pipelines

Intestines of black tiger shrimp will be collected from in-house hatcheries along with rearing water and shrimp feeds (WP1) at BIOTEC. In effort to identify autochthonous population, microbial community analyses will be analyzed in water and feed samples to determine transient bacterial population through environmental and feed conditions. Pasteur will be co-author of this Deliverable.

Model of quality project delivery mechanism developed from lessons learned from SAFE-Aqua

Building on the knowledge sharing and exchange of staffs in SAFE-Aqua, administrative grant officers will be trained and encouraged to apply their acquired skills in future projects they will be involved in to make these projects successful.

Effects of vertebrates PAMPs on protection against infection with arthropods viruses

Similar protocols as in T1.2 will be applied to test potential effects of polyI:C (commercially available) and short 5′-triphosphate-RNA molecules (obtained by in vitro transcription by T7 RNA Polymerase) on protection against viral infections.

A public project website for SAFE-Aqua linked to a web-based project management platform only for partners which can be accessed through the SAFE-Aqua website

A website, containing a password-protected web portal and a publicly accessible domain, will be developed. Its main purpose is to make the project known to the public. A web portal attached to this website will allow internal communication and data and file sharing only among partners.

A workshop on ‘Genomics & Bioinformatics’
A workshop on ‘Metabolomics and applications in agriculture and food security’

The work from Tasks 1 to 3 will be presented during a workshop. This is also part of the knowledge transfer strategy of SAFE-Aqua (WP6). [All partipants will participate in the organisation of this workshop]

Symposium highlighting the achievements of SAFE-Aqua

At the end of the project, an international symposium highlighting the achievements from SAFE-Aqua will be organised. It will be open to the public (i.e. Regulators, scientists, farmers, feed industry, etc., will be invited).
