The antiseptic Wax project was addressed to the major problem of food-related industries, namely bacterial contamination and spoilage of food. Compounding the problem is increasing customer demand for fresh and preservative-free food. Contaminating biofilms can form on packaging machinery, conveyor belts, drying areas, floor drains, refrigerators, etc. Our technology Anitseptic Wax allows for effective prevention of biofilm formation on various surfaces. Once formed, biofilms are highly resistant to antibacterial treatment and cleaning, therefore, prevention of their formation is a major challenge to all industries affected by bacterial contamination. We have developed the ability to spray from solution and coat various surfaces with our paraffin waxes which leads to superhydrophobic and antibacterial properties. In addition, in the framework of this PoC we have identified another compound which leads to superhydrophobic antibacterial surfaces and is not only FDA approved but even edible. We are in the process of patenting this new technology for and prior to that we can not elaborate more.
