The mechanisms of colorectal anastomotic healing (CAH) will be analysed by using a newly generated and validated mouse model. Longitudinal gene expression profiling of muscularis and lamina propria mucosae tissue after surgery will be performed to understand underlying healing pathways in timely manner.
