Project description
Raising automated vehicles users' acceptance for all transport modes
The use of advanced technologies in transport represents a new challenge for transport-related stakeholders. The EU-funded DriveToTheFuture project will prepare drivers, travellers and vehicle operators to adopt connected, cooperative and automated transport modes and the industry of these technologies to meet their needs and requirements. The project will model the behaviour of automated vehicle (AV) users, anticipate acceptance for several automated transport scenarios and develop specialised training tools. DriveToTheFuture will optimise human–machine interaction, apply multi-criteria analysis and business modelling and issue guidelines and policy recommendations, towards an automation user acceptance roadmap. Finally, the project will perform tests in 12 pilot sites across Europe, launch surveys and host three events, involving over 1 000 AV drivers/passengers, 200 AV operators and 20 000 citizens.
