Report on the developments related the growth and characterization (structural, electrical, magnetic). The report will assess the performance in terms of the stability of the ferromagnetic phase and the observed QAHE. It will include the fabrication protocols to reduce the contact resistance.

Report on the propagation loss lengths in waveguides with topologically protected photonic modes The advantages of such a system over topologically trivial waveguides will be discussed and key areas for optimization of topological photonic waveguides will be identified

Design of topological waveguides (si apre in una nuova finestra)

Layout and report of the designs of topological waveguides for photons, phonons and combination of the two. The report will focus on design features that limit propagation losses, and create hybrid photon-phonon systems, including those where both are topologically protected and where topological photonic waveguides overlap with phononic bandgaps. Layouts for fabrication (dxf files) will be included. These designs will provide input to Task 1.4 in WP1 for device fabrication. The report will also include fabrication details.

Report on temperature dependence and critical current of the edge states and strategies for increasing their robustness in both diluted and intrinsic magnetic topological insulators.
