Berichtszeitraum: 2020-05-01 bis 2021-10-31
IoT is a key enabler, and challenge, in the digital transformation, requiring ambition and attention to help achieve societal goals related to social, environmental and economic development.
NGIoT delivered the "Roadmap for IoT Research, Innovation and Deployment in Europe 2021-2027". The Roadmap contains an analysis of the IoT landscape, and provides detailed recommendations for research, innovation and deployment. It is available at the website: www.ngiot.eu
Establishment of the NGIoT Strategy Board with external key stakeholders. A roadmap for proposed standardization activities. Identification of end-user engagement measures. Guidelines for IoT privacy and security. An initial market analysis and business modelling report. A scoping paper and draft roadmap for European IoT Research, Innovation and Deployment 2021-2027. Webinars and consultations to support the input and analysis. Participation to external events and presentations.
In the second period (M19-36), the project continued to extend the analysis of the landscape, and developed a set of concise recommendations, which were validated through community engagement in the Strategy Board and through sectorial workshops. The recommendations are already reflected in the first parts of the Horizon Europe Work Programme, the Digital Europe programme (DIGITAL) and the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF).
The baseline and landscaping for clear priorities has been delivered in the first period, as a basis for priorities and an agenda for research, innovation and deployment for IoT in Europe. In the second period, the roadmap was delivered, supporting the work programme(s) evolutions in an engaged community of stakeholders, in EU27 and beyond.
