Within Task 1.1, HYBRID will use existing state-of-the-art protocols that have proven to be successful, in order to synthesise and provide reference CO2 hydrogenation catalysts for all the partners that require them to further evaluate the reaction. The deliverable report will cover the preparation of selected metal particles/oxides (such as, typically, Cu and ZnO) deposited onto commercially available zeolites/alumino-silicates or mixed oxides supports. The activity of the reference catalyst will be verified in a suitable plug flow screening reactor.
Joint workshop with other EU sister projects (öffnet in neuem Fenster)Clustering activities (based on the agreements of the POs involved) with the other EU projects will be established, based on creating win-win situations. It will contain key activities such as: 1) joint common demonstration issues, 2) sharing project results/outcome combinations, 3) shared exhibition presentations, 4) educational materials.
Report on analysis of nanosafety and regulatory requirements (öffnet in neuem Fenster)The report will provide the evaluation/risk assessment of exposure and effects (taking into account potential toxicity with hazard data) with proposed effective risk mitigation measures to be implemented to protect workers and the environment during the (nano)materials manufacturing and processing.
Preliminary dissemination and communication plans (öffnet in neuem Fenster)The dissemination strategy for the whole duration of the project will be detailed in the Communication & Dissemination plan. This will be created in the form of a working document that is at the disposal of all the partners. The document will be continuously updated during the life cycle of the project. This deliverable will be the first version of the dissemination and communication strategy.
Non-conventional deposition of catalyst particles in CNT systems (öffnet in neuem Fenster)As part of Task 12 HTF will report on the fabrication method of innovative catalyst particles confined in stable and robust aligned carbon nanotubes CNTs by template assisted chemical vapour deposition CVD The novel deposition method will rely on a concept TRL34 nanotechnology methodology called Supertool developed by the Network of Excellence Inside Pores Potential difficulties lie in controlling and tailoring internal geometry and the constrictions the size of the deposited particles as well as their dispersion within the CNTs aiming to enhance catalytic activity
Milichannel reactor design and evaluation for WP3 (TRL6) (öffnet in neuem Fenster)TEC will report on the design and construction of multichannel millireactors Task 26 building on the result of Task 25 Two or three multichannel reactor prototypes will be constructed and validated at relevant operational conditions to assure the optimal design at TRL 6 is delivered to WP3 for the process integration an intensification

Report on development and optimisation of SOEC system for production and use of DME (öffnet in neuem Fenster)The report (to be compiled by both SP and ICI) will present the outcome of Task 3.3 dealing with the integration of the SOEC co-electrolysis stack in order to operate it at 3.5 kW under the conditions representative of the pilot DME production. The design of this testing piece of equipment will be based on the requirements (parameters) and prior work provided from WP2. The composition of the output gases will be analysed in order to evaluate its suitability for DME production.
Report on partnering with other networks and projects (öffnet in neuem Fenster)The report will analyse the outcomes of the clustering activities with the other EU projects.
‘Conventional’ single tube reactor - design and evaluation (öffnet in neuem Fenster)ITAE will report on studies performed within Task 21 on the effect of different catalyst configurations tested within a tubular jacketed fixed bed reactor These preliminary results will provide the initial criteria for the analysis and selection of catalysts for further multichannel reactor optimisation and validation
SOEC stack design and evaluation for WP3 (TRL6) (öffnet in neuem Fenster)SP will report on the evaluation completed within Task 27 of the potential of the SOEC unit when operated in coelectrolysis mode for integration for CO2 conversion and DME production in WP3 A target production capability at TRL 6 for integrated systems is expected to be of ca 700 Nlh of COCO2 and ca 1500 Nlh of H2 with a power consumption of ca 35 kW in coelectrolysis mode and 50 conversion
Market study (öffnet in neuem Fenster)The market study will retrieve information on the targeted markets and lay the basis for strategic decisionmaking The market study will serve as a crucial preliminary phase to tailor the exploitation strategies and plans The information supplied in this deliverable should be in sufficient detail for all the partners to follow the most appropriate steps for their product to reach the market with a viable and feasible strategies to acquire new clients partners investors and users in general
Communication kit containing all the dissemination materials (öffnet in neuem Fenster)Communication tools will be established in order to ensure that a common image is associated with all the dissemination material produced by the project. The visual identity kit will include the CO2Fokus project logo; the graphical layout for the CO2Fokus project website; slides for public presentations; project flyers; and project e-newsletters.
Report on development and optimisation of a prototype demonstration reactor system for production of DME (öffnet in neuem Fenster)As part of Task 3.2, FEY will report on the construction of a mini pilot demonstration unit at TRL 6 based on the optimisation and scale-up of the selected multichannel reactor design and catalysts developed in WP1 and WP2, for CO2 conversion into DME. References to define the design of the unit will be the single tube reactor provided by ITAE, multichannel TRL6 reactor provided by TEC, and 3.5 kW SOEC stack provided by SP/ICI, as well as process and technology constraints provided by PET and process simulations provided by HTF, HOTO, SP and ICI.
Process design for CO2Fokus prototype demonstrators (öffnet in neuem Fenster)This report will be produced in collaboration between HTF, FEY, ICI, PET and SOCAR and will describe the process model developed in Task 3.4 for the demonstration unit optimisation to reach the maximum yield and minimise the energy consumption obtained. Modelling, simulation and optimisation will be obtained using Aspen/gPROMS software packages or similar. The report will also include the design of the protocols management for stand-alone operation of the CO2Fokus demonstrator prototype units with a view to their employment in an industrial configuration.
Final conference (öffnet in neuem Fenster)The final conference will help further disseminate the results and know-how of the project from the fundamentals to the applications in industry. This event will be open to all interested stakeholders, initiatives and contacts made during the project life time.
3D printed catalyst structures and their evaluation for WP3 (TRL6) (öffnet in neuem Fenster)VITO will report on the development and scaleup of the 3D printing of catalyst structures Task 24 building on the results of Task 23 of the best performing catalyst materials Indicators of the successful outputs will be the desired catalyst formulations geometry dimensions patterns and their catalytic performance As such they are expected to be applicable best suited as reactor configurations at TRL 6 for process optimisation in WP3
Selected catalyst formulations by screening for CO2 hydrogenation for DME production for WP2 (both for chemical and electrochemical conversion) (öffnet in neuem Fenster)As part of Task 14 HYBRID will report on the selection of catalyst formulations produced in WP1 The criteria for selecting the optimal catalysts will be based on a set of ageing experiments performed on the most promising catalysts to examine changes with timeonstream in the catalytic activity product selectivity and deactivation rates under appropriate process conditions
Socio-Economic Assessment report (öffnet in neuem Fenster)This report will summarise the results obtained in Task 4.2 and Task 4.4 on LCCA and S-LCA. It will provide a comprehensive perspective on both economic and social benefits of the developed solutions. This will include the evaluation of the total economic worth of the new technology and its advantages compared to the conventional DME production systems as well as its potential impacts on the value chain actors.
