The central goal of the project was to leverage the developments of novel, highly sensitive cavity-enhanced optical spectroscopy and microscopy to the level of a consistent product concept, and to advance the proof-of-principle technology to a prototype device with a broad end-customer market potential. The project was successful in evaluating the technological and commercial potential of cavity-enhanced light-matter interactions for applications in nano and life sciences as well as quantum technologies, thus culminating in a consolidated market and product concept for further commercialization. Moreover, the project laid the foundation for extensive follow-up funding of the start-up phase toward a spin-off company providing solutions and enabling analytic tools for ultra-sensitive all-optical detection of single nanoparticles, molecules or quantum emitters for research and development of quantum and nanotechnologies, material sciences, chemistry, biophysics and pharmaceutics.
