In today's world, we entirely rely on the availability of communication systems for our daily activities. We are permanently connected to these networks, and we assume that such infrastructures are always available. However, this is not true everywhere.
Attavik aims to deliver connectivity in places underserved by traditional telecommunication technologies. Attavik will create mesh-clouds that can be attached to the internet and thus provide internet access.
The objectives of the present project to make Attavik a global leader connectivity world is:
• Define the product requirements
• Define a working plan
• Select adequate technologies
• Define a commercial program and identify regulatory requirements
• Build a business plan
We have undertaken numerous meetings to carry out this feasibility analysis in which all the staff has participated. The collaboration among people with very different profile has allowed us to coordinate the elaboration of a technical and a commercial workplan. We have also defined the structure of costs and revenues.
The main results of this study are:
Technological Conclusions
• Attavik technological parameters of service of Attavik are very competitive compared with other technological options.
• Attavik includes the functionality required to scale-up.
Commercial conclusions
• We have defined 5 use cases that will be our commercialization objective for the next years: Rural HOMES EU, Farming HOLDINGS EU, Developing countries, Outdoor Activities and Cruise ship
• Our pricing scheme is simple and takes into account the particularities of the different markets and the different use cases.
• We have decided to address the market with a B2B model in most of the use cases.
Financial conclusions
• Attavik is viable under the assumptions we believe acceptable and will generate substantial value for shareholders.
• Attavik will have a significant contribution to the creation of jobs in our company.
Attavik is now a product that is beyond the state of the are in several aspects: is the only one that uses TV White Space to create mesh clouds and it is also the only one with a portable nature. These features will have the potential to disrupt the connectivity market in places of difficult coverage. It will ease the objectives of the administrations to take connectivity to all places, mainly to rural areas and it will impact also the market of outdoor activities.
